Schools detail
French Guiana is a France overseas collectivity under Constitution Article 73, so French education law and circulars apply of full right. Code de l’éducation L. 312-16 requires sexuality education in schools. The 29 September 2021 education circular (NOR MENE2128373C) sets school rules on gender identity. The Académie de Guyane publishes an academic EVARS vade-mecum. National EVAR (primary) and EVARS (collège and lycée) take effect from the 2025 rentrée.
