The SickKids Gender Care Clinic (formerly the Transgender Youth Clinic, opened October 2013) is an interdisciplinary public clinic with endocrinologists. It excludes pre-pubertal children and youth aged 17 and over. Official referral criteria require initiated puberty (breast buds or increased testicular volume). The current clinic page says medications are not prescribed at the first visit, even when they may be relevant later. AboutKidsHealth, written by SickKids staff, lists hormone blockers that delay puberty, then opposite-sex hormones, among medical-transition options. There is no provincial medical ban.
