In January 2026, the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) withdrew the Senior High School Year 2 Physical Education and Health (Elective) teacher manual’s “gender identity” content. Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu directed that Ministry of Education and Ghana Education Service materials treat sex as biological sex at birth. That is a school-content restriction.
