Egypt’s Code of Medical Ethics (Ministry of Health / Medical Syndicate Resolution 238 of 2003, Article 43) forbids a physician from performing sex-change operations. Sex-correction operations need syndicate-committee approval after hormone tests, a chromosome map, and at least two years of psychological and hormonal treatment. That pathway is for conditions where a baby’s sex development didn’t follow the usual path (DSD). It is not a sex-rejecting-procedure pathway.
