The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services published *Treatment for Pediatric Gender Dysphoria: Review of Evidence and Best Practices* on 19 November 2025. This is an evidence review.
HHS’s umbrella review of systematic reviews found that the overall quality of evidence concerning the effects of any intervention on psychological outcomes, quality of life, regret, or long-term health is very low. The report states that it “is not a clinical practice guideline, and it does not issue legislative or policy recommendations.”
Puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries for minors remain a matter of state law, court orders, and later federal payment rules.
