On 15 May 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice announced a resolution with Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) together with the Texas Attorney General. DOJ describes it as the first resolution under its national investigation into sex-rejecting procedures on minors.
Terms DOJ states. TCH agreed not to perform those procedures on children, including puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones; to pay $10 million to resolve alleged false billings to public and private payors; and to dedicate millions to medical care for children harmed by those procedures (DOJ: “detransitioners”), including establishing a detransition / restorative-care clinic.
Allegations, not findings. The Justice Department’s release states that the claims resolved by the United States “are allegations only and there has been no determination of liability.” It also states that both entities have denied all allegations. This is not a court verdict.
