The CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics published the FY2027 ICD-10-CM files. Those codes are for U.S. health-care services from October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027.
Two new codes matter for this story. F64.A is titled “Gender identity disorder, in remission.” A clinician can record that this distress has remitted. Z87.893 is “Personal history of gender detransition.” That lets a chart show someone later stopped or reversed a medical transition.
This is record-keeping. Clearer charts help hospitals and researchers see real outcomes when distress remits or someone detransitions.
